Blueprint
How it works

Build the configuration once

Blueprint lets you create reusable option templates for products or collections. Add text, numeric, selection and file inputs, then use conditional logic and multi-step flows to guide customers through complex choices.

Use the same template in your online store, Shopify POS and Draft Orders. On POS, file uploads use the device camera and dropdowns display as radio-button lists. Add-on charges are totalled into a Customisation Fee and paired with the base product in one bundled cart line.

Key features

Product options across POS and online

The same options apply in-store and online, with conditional logic, flexible layouts and input types keeping product configuration consistent across both.

Reusable templates for faster setup

Option templates are built once and assigned to products or collections, with template duplication, bulk uploads and admin improvements reducing setup time as configuration grows.

Options bundled into a single line item

Selections and charges are combined into one line at checkout, keeping orders accurate and easy to process.

Why Blueprint

Move beyond option limits

Supports complex product configurations that go beyond standard variant constraints, without duplicating products or workarounds.

Keep product setup structured as it scales

Templates centralise option logic, avoiding fragmented setups as catalogues grow.

Sell configurable products consistently across channels

The same configuration works in-store and online, so products are sold the same way everywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Find quick answers to common questions about Blueprint

Which option types does Blueprint support?
Blueprint supports single-line text, large text areas, numeric text, dropdowns, radio buttons, checkboxes and file uploads with configurable file types. Templates can also include static headers, paragraphs and dividing lines.
Does Blueprint work online, in Shopify POS and with Draft Orders?
Yes. The same underlying configuration works across the online store, Shopify POS and Draft Orders. On POS, file upload becomes camera capture and dropdowns appear as radio-button lists because Shopify POS does not provide equivalent components.
How do reusable templates work?
Build the option structure once, then assign the template to products or collections. Templates can include multiple steps, conditional logic, refinements and price adjustments, and can be duplicated when another product needs a similar setup.
Can Blueprint use supplier data for option values?
Yes. Create a Data Source from JSON at a URL or a manually uploaded CSV, then map the JSON keys or CSV columns to Blueprint fields. Refreshes are manually initiated. Updated values are stored in Blueprint and made available wherever that Data Source is used. Metafields and collections are also available on the relevant plans.
How are additional charges added to the order?
Selected options stay attached to the base product. Blueprint totals any add-on charges into a Customisation Fee variant, then uses Shopify cart-line bundling to pair the product and fee in one cart line.
What counts as a custom product order?
A custom product order is one Shopify order containing one or more items customised through Blueprint. It counts once per order, not once for each customised item. When the monthly allowance is reached, the merchant must upgrade before Blueprint can process another custom product order.
How much does Blueprint cost?
Yes. Blueprint offers a free plan, as well as paid plans at $24.99/month, $49.99/month and $119.99/month (USD) that offer 30-day free trials.
What can I configure with Blueprint?
Blueprint is designed for complex, personalised and made-to-order products. Public examples include rings, furniture, bicycles and sports kits, but templates can be assigned to any suitable Shopify product or collection.
