Understanding revenue attributed to QuiQR campaigns

A QR scan tells you that someone engaged with a printed placement. Revenue attribution adds another reporting view: the orders and revenue QuiQR links to QR activity.

Premier includes attributed revenue reporting, order tagging and scan and revenue CSV exports. Free includes scan reporting, while Core and Premier support UTM parameters for your wider analytics setup.

Scans and attributed revenue answer different questions

Scan figures help you understand engagement with packaging, signs or campaigns. Attributed revenue helps you review the commercial activity the app associates with QR journeys. A scan does not automatically become an order, and an attributed order does not prove that the QR placement caused an additional purchase.

1. Make your codes easy to identify

Use clear names that describe the campaign, placement and product range. Separate codes for distinct placements when you need to compare them. Consistent naming makes the dashboard and exported reports easier to interpret.

2. Compare the same reporting period

Choose the relevant date range in QuiQR. Review scans, attributed orders and revenue together where the report provides them. Compare like-for-like periods and allow for differences in how long each campaign has been running.

3. Use order tagging for follow-up checks

Order tagging helps identify orders attributed to QR activity in Shopify. Review the app’s tagging settings and confirm them with a test journey before depending on tags for internal processes. An order tag is a reporting aid; it does not replace the order record.

4. Export the reports you need

Premier supports scan and revenue CSV exports. Use them to share campaign results or work with the figures outside the app. Keep the selected date range with the exported file so a later comparison uses the same period.

5. Keep attribution separate from campaign lift

Attribution connects activity according to the app’s tracking rules. Campaign lift asks how many additional sales happened because of the campaign. Answering that second question needs a suitable comparison or experiment.

Do not add attributed revenue from several analytics systems together as if each represents a different sale. Their reporting methods can overlap. If you need to reconcile figures with Shopify or another analytics tool, confirm the relevant attribution rules and treatment of order changes with QuiQR support.

Use UTM parameters alongside QuiQR reports

On Core and Premier, set a consistent UTM structure before printing. Use it to identify QR campaign traffic in your chosen analytics platform. Keep the campaign name consistent with the code name where practical.

Test before the print run

Check the destination, variants, cart or checkout path and discount. Use a controlled test journey to check the reporting and tagging you intend to rely on. Keep test activity separate from your campaign analysis.

For precise attribution windows, tracking requirements or reconciliation questions, use the QuiQR help centre or contact support. These details should be confirmed for the current app behaviour rather than inferred from a dashboard total.
