How it works

This workflow runs when a shopper adds an item to a wishlist in Wysh, waits two days, then sends a Wishlist reminder event to Mailchimp.

The Mailchimp action maps the Shopify customer ID, the customer's last order ID and the saved product ID.

Before you start

  • Install Shopify Flow, Wysh and the Mailchimp app.
  • Connect Mailchimp directly to your Shopify store. No API key is required in the template.
  • Review whether the two-day delay suits your reminder strategy.

Install the workflow

  1. Download the ZIP and extract wysh_mailchimp_wishlist_reminder.flow.
  2. In Shopify Flow, choose Import workflow.
  3. Select the extracted .flow file.
  4. Review the two-day wait, event name and data mappings.
  5. Save the workflow without switching it on.

Customise the workflow

Keep the default event name or rename it to match your Mailchimp conventions. Update any dependent Customer Journey at the same time.

You can change the wait step to seconds, minutes, hours, days or weeks. Keep the production delay intact while testing unless you deliberately shorten it for a bounded test.

Enable and test

  1. Use a test customer with a Mailchimp contact and save a product in Wysh.
  2. For a bounded test, temporarily shorten the wait.
  3. Confirm the event reaches the expected Mailchimp contact with the product ID.
  4. Restore the two-day delay before turning the workflow on.

Do not activate the production workflow with a shortened test delay.

Use the event in Mailchimp

Use the event as the starting point for a wishlist reminder Customer Journey. Build any additional consent, frequency and suppression rules in Mailchimp before sending marketing messages.

Troubleshooting

  • No event: confirm the Mailchimp connection and review the Flow run history after the wait completes.
  • Event arrives too early or late: check the wait step and store time zone.
  • Missing product ID: confirm the saved product still exists and inspect the trigger output.
